Existing Technology

The existing standard for ice skate holder and blade technology is more than 20 years old in design and material technologies. These products have not kept pace with today's demand for performance as dictated by the highly competitive nature of the sport.

The age of the design of existing blade technology is most apparent in the stiffness and the variability of the blade rocker and sharpness. The flexibility of conventional holders compromises their ability to stop, turn and accelerate efficiently. A high percentage of the energy of your stride is lost due to flexing of the holder. Additionally the conventional blade technology utilizes a large, heavy, one-piece steel blade which is ground to provide a specific blade profile and hollow.
Over the life of the blade both the hollow and profile will vary considerably.

QuikBlade® Technology

QuikBlade®'s construction features a number of innovative and proprietary technologies.

Composite Construction -
QuikBlade®'s Torque Tube blade holder design features carbon fibre composite construction. Carbon fibre, with its remarkable combination of lightweight and incredible strength is used in everything from fighter planes to Formula 1 racing applications.

QuikBlade® - the future of skate blade design today.

QuikBlade® isn't just designed to be strong: it's designed to be tough. The end result is a holder that is 6 times stiffer than the industry standard.

QuikBlade® is engineered for maximum performance

Rocker
-
QuikBlade®'s rocker is machined from solid 7000 Series Aluminum. The use of this incredible material ensures that the rocker is significantly lighter than a conventional blade while offering the toughness that is required.

Tensioning Mechanism - An integral part of the design of the rocker, the tensioning mechanism is used to tighten the Blade Strip and hold it in place. It is manufactured from a combination of cast and machined aluminum.

Blade Strip
- This component is fabricated from alloy steel that is drawn, hardened and factory sharpened, ensuring a consistent hollow edge.
